NBoundZ Motorsports & Christian Ministries will serve it’s community by providing a way to stay in touch with the local and national motorsport events, while equipping the Christian to be more bold in their faith. We pray our actions speak much louder than our words. If a picture says a thousand words, check out what is being communicated at the local tracks and what we hope to communicate.
Everyone is welcome, become a user and enjoy the photo and video galleries. NBoundZ will even upload your photos and videos for you (after a careful review of “clean” material), so you can share your experiences at the track with friends and family. Send an e-mail to Clayton Peck who can help you link up to our website. If your belief in Jesus Christ shares the same foundations, feel free to apply for an official Nboundz membership. You can partner with our mission and demonstrate support. One of the many ways for you to make that bold statement is by displaying our ministry logo on your car.

This weekend was incredible in the HPDE. My fun started in December when Jason Boles asked me to assume the new position of Director of Vendor Sponsorhips. Approximately one week later, Dan Sturla also asked me to help with the DE2 downloads as one of his assistants, what a whirlwind start for the year! At he same time, this gave NBoundZ an opportunity to be put in the forefront of the local racing and driving scene and and become a integral part of ClubracingAZ and NASA Arizona. First off,I want to thank Chris Soehren for all of his support this weekend and helping me with the paddock area with the vendors and helping Marty at Scottsdale Motoring. Chris Soehren also jumped in and helped Dan Sturla with the DE2 downloads since the format had changed and their was some confusion in the morning sessions.
Both days started with and open first sessions in each class. Drivers were obviously rusty after the holidays, it was kind of crazy out there. The second and third sessions included drills, this proved to be fun and very interesting. Second session was a side by side drill, the goal was to learn to drive the entire course side by side with another car at slower speeds, then increasing with comfort. I’m glad to say, I don’t have any paint on my car other than mine and vice versa. It was fun to do something different. The third session was a passing drill, all sessions passed in three common areas in the track were passing is relatively straight. This was a great drill to show the importance of watching your mirrors and giving point bys, then “lifting†to assist in a safe pass. The drill went off without a hitch. I helped run the drills in DE2 and practiced at higher speeds in DE3 under Jeff Sturla’s instruction. The fourth sessions were all out, can you say practice for “race group†Overall, the weekend was a blast, I got to drive 12 to 14 sessions for the entire weekend, my poor car and brakes!
The weekend also allowed us to fellowship with our brothers in Christ and explain to the spectators and drivers why we are out here professing our faith when asked. Botton line, they probably wouldn’t have asked, if we had not publicly professed our faith via our cars.
I’m really excited for the events to come, we hope to have a prayer before the mandatory driver meetings in the mornings before the events and open Chapel at the tracks for a time to come together on Sundays and have a small fellowship.
We hope to see everyone at the next event. Chris Soehren will be a the February 3,4 event, but I will be in Colorado skiing with my beautiful wife celebrating her 30th birthday. I plan on being back in full swing in March – three weekends!!!! WOW!
First off Congrats to all the participants of the weekend!! All 20 people that went through our new DE1 Program, Congrats and look forward to seeing everyone out there! The ClubRacing Arizona and NASA-Arizona Staff would like to take this time to personally thank the Group Leaders of the HPDE Groups! Arizona HPDE Director, Cliff Orbach, and Dave Riddle for his Classroom instruction for the HPDE1 Group. Also Dan Sturla and Jeff Sturla for embarking on a whole new level of Education for the HPDE program here in Arizona, They and Cliff and many other top national and local drivers are helping them develop a education program for the HPDE2&3 drivers to really help take you to a whole new level of driving!
Also something new for the ClubRacing Arizona staff but the standard for the NASA Arizona group, the NASA Time Trial Program and the HPDE4, this has now become an invite-only group, So Brady Dorhmann had his hands full with some of the best drivers in the state. Kudos to Brady and his team for stepping up and making a great event! Also a special thanks to the attendance of the Arizona Corvette Drivers, it was great having you and look forward to many more events with you guys in the future!
Surgeusa.com Time Attack, is getting rescheduled for the Feb event as a Double points due to a accident in Race group. Please re-register on the www.clubracingaz.com website for the next event beginning Thursday morning!
Race Group: well first we had on Friday less than 30 cars signed up for race group so we took the 2 race fields and put them into 1 large group. Then we had a run on registration at the track and threw our Race field numbers in the high thirties. Its been a long time in AZ since that happened last! So on Saturday we started 34 cars in the race. After an amazing start, the race was truly awesome to watch! Congrats to Bud Thurston with a best time of 1:02.702, and Chris Cervelli in his 993 with a best time of 1:04.573, and Avo Kulluian in his 993 with a Best time of 1:04:365 which had a better fast time but ended up 3rd overall. Congrats to Norm Hamden his 944 Spec win in his 944 and a best time of 1:13.572. Great job to all 34 starters on Saturday.
Sundays race did not last very long due to an accident in NASCAR 4, The driver was transported to the hospital, treated and released and will be fine. He did not hit any oil or any fluids on the track, rather he merely came a little low in the oval and dropped in on the transition zone upsetting the car and putting it into a flat spin in the Turn 4 wall and bounced into the hot pit wall! The safety equipment that he had in place was truly a great asset to him and is a testament to all that it is imperative that everyone exceed the minimum standards for safety and you will more than likely have a more positive outcome if you end up in a similar situation!
We apologize for having to cut the event short on Sunday by a couple of sessions, however, when the driver was transported to a medical facility, we lost our ambulance support. Safety rules and we will not operate our on-track sessions without on-site Ambulance services. As a result, the remainder of the afternoon sessions had to be cancelled.
