First off Congrats to all the participants of the weekend!! All 20 people that went through our new DE1 Program, Congrats and look forward to seeing everyone out there! The ClubRacing Arizona and NASA-Arizona Staff would like to take this time to personally thank the Group Leaders of the HPDE Groups! Arizona HPDE Director, Cliff Orbach, and Dave Riddle for his Classroom instruction for the HPDE1 Group. Also Dan Sturla and Jeff Sturla for embarking on a whole new level of Education for the HPDE program here in Arizona, They and Cliff and many other top national and local drivers are helping them develop a education program for the HPDE2&3 drivers to really help take you to a whole new level of driving!

Also something new for the ClubRacing Arizona staff but the standard for the NASA Arizona group, the NASA Time Trial Program and the HPDE4, this has now become an invite-only group, So Brady Dorhmann had his hands full with some of the best drivers in the state. Kudos to Brady and his team for stepping up and making a great event! Also a special thanks to the attendance of the Arizona Corvette Drivers, it was great having you and look forward to many more events with you guys in the future!

Surgeusa.com Time Attack, is getting rescheduled for the Feb event as a Double points due to a accident in Race group. Please re-register on the www.clubracingaz.com website for the next event beginning Thursday morning!

Race Group: well first we had on Friday less than 30 cars signed up for race group so we took the 2 race fields and put them into 1 large group. Then we had a run on registration at the track and threw our Race field numbers in the high thirties. Its been a long time in AZ since that happened last! So on Saturday we started 34 cars in the race. After an amazing start, the race was truly awesome to watch! Congrats to Bud Thurston with a best time of 1:02.702, and Chris Cervelli in his 993 with a best time of 1:04.573, and Avo Kulluian in his 993 with a Best time of 1:04:365 which had a better fast time but ended up 3rd overall. Congrats to Norm Hamden his 944 Spec win in his 944 and a best time of 1:13.572. Great job to all 34 starters on Saturday.

Sundays race did not last very long due to an accident in NASCAR 4, The driver was transported to the hospital, treated and released and will be fine. He did not hit any oil or any fluids on the track, rather he merely came a little low in the oval and dropped in on the transition zone upsetting the car and putting it into a flat spin in the Turn 4 wall and bounced into the hot pit wall! The safety equipment that he had in place was truly a great asset to him and is a testament to all that it is imperative that everyone exceed the minimum standards for safety and you will more than likely have a more positive outcome if you end up in a similar situation!

We apologize for having to cut the event short on Sunday by a couple of sessions, however, when the driver was transported to a medical facility, we lost our ambulance support. Safety rules and we will not operate our on-track sessions without on-site Ambulance services. As a result, the remainder of the afternoon sessions had to be cancelled.
