Morgan Shepherd “Racing with Jesus”

April 22, 2007

This week Joey Baugh, Jim Lange, David Toms, Mike Grubbs and I were priviledged to crew for Morgan Shepherd at the Busch Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.  Joey, Mike, Jim and I were responsible for the car set up and taking care of Morgan.  David Toms worked with John Davis to make sure we had enough support for Morgan. Morgan was driving the Cheverolet 01 car for John “Chop Chop” Davis Motorsports, since his Dodge #89 “Racing with Jesus” car isn’t completely built.  Morgan hopes to have the #89 car ready for Richmond.  This week was an incredible experience!

Joey and I knew nothing about NASCAR Busch cars going into the week, but after two days with Morgan, we were feeling more comfortable working on the car.  We still don’t know much, but we plan on learning more.   Morgan is such a light to this world of motorsports, he was so kind and loving with everyone he touched, including us.  Morgan’s incredible ability to teach ramped our knowledge levels up quickly mechanically and spiritually.

We also were able to take time and fellowship with Morgan and friends every night at dinner.  I thought this was the best part of the week, Morgan’s incredible passion to bring the Truth of Jesus Christ to the world was so refreshing to hear.  We really look forward to helping him out when he returns in November.  If you are an experienced mechanic or if you have ever crewed professionally in a pit crew, please contact us, we want Morgan to be able to complete the entire race.  We won’t be able to pay you, but being able to work with Morgan is reward enough.  His testimony will warm your heart and inspire you to go out and make fisherman of men!

Please tell someone today that doesn’t know Christ that there is hope in this world, and that hope was a free gift from God purchased at a huge price, his name was Jesus!  Jesus died on the cross for everyone one of us, he was resurrected by God and all you have to do pray and accept him as your personal savior and place your faith in Him.  That is why we are here on this earth!

RACE FACTORY TO HOST NATION’S QUICKEST DRIVERS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

F1 RACE FACTORY TO HOST NATION’S QUICKEST DRIVERS

Venue launches first ever US Indoor Kart Championship

PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 04, 2007) – F1 Race Factory, America’s Largest Indoor Kart Racing and Entertainment Venue, announced today that it will host the first ever US Indoor Kart Championship to take place April 12-14, 2007.

The US Indoor Kart Championship (USIKC) will bring the best kart racers in the country to compete in a three-day competition that will determine the US Indoor Kart Champion and USIKC Team. The competition was created in an effort to boost the competitive nature of the emerging sport. Kart racing is extremely popular in Europe and South America, and is catching on quickly in the US. F1 Race Factory also hosts the Indoor Kart World Championship, which in 2006 brought over 75 of the world’s most talented kart racers together in a fast paced and intense competition. These kart racers travel to Phoenix from countries such as Brazil, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, and Argentina to compete against the best in their field.

“Kart racing is a thrilling sport, whether you are a spectator or on the tracks,” said Scott Sanders, President of F1 Race Factory. “We designed the USIKC as an additional event for the best of the best to take part in. To compete, and even better to win a competition of this caliber is a milestone for those who are passionate about this sport.”

In addition to promoting an already flourishing sport, the USIKC was created to locate talent and foster the growth of tomorrow’s premiere drivers. Several of today’s NASCAR and Formula 1 drivers got their start in kart racing, including Michael Schumacher, Tony Stewart, and Danica Patrick.

The field of the USIKC will be limited to 60 racers. Racers will compete in 6 races throughout the weekend, competing on a different track every race. Racers will receive points for each race and at the end of the competition a USIKC individual and team champion will be crowned.

The total purse is worth over $5,000 in cash and prizes. The entry fee is $350 per racer. No previous racing experience is required, and the minimum driver age is 15. For more information, please visit www.USIKC.com.

Warrior Brady Dohrmann featured in D Sport

April 2, 2007

This unda cover brotha can’t do karate and things, but this unda cover brotha can drive!  This is really no surprise to anyone that knows Brady, but this super hero at the track can drive a car equal to some of the best racers in the country!  Brady was featured in the latest issue (#053), May 2007 of D Sport.  The title of the feature is “Hot Lap Hustle” and can be found on page 76 of the magazine.  My favorite quote of the article is,”this warrior lives a Clark Kent / Superman-style existence”!  Thats REALLL!  I also want to thank Brady and Jeremy for all of the support at the track and the time they have spent with me to improve my driving skills.  If it wasn’t for the stength of Jesus and the help of these guys, I would not be even close to the level I am at today.  A special thanks also goes to Jeremy, thanks for letting me bum your tools all of the time!  LOL  Congrats to Brady, you deserve the props!
