I wanted to report some very good news. Gary Felton, a Arizona and NASA National safety inspector came to the house to inspect the cage on Sunday, August the 19th. Gary was very impressed with the quality of work of the cage and the attention to detail. The cage still requires the one diagonal bar, but that is a very easy fix. If you are interested in getting a cage put in your car to compete in NASA or SCCA, SRD now understands what is required by both organizations and can build an incredibly safe cage for you. The last three months have been very trying for us. The 350Z conversion to a race car didn’t go as planned, but the end product will be very satisfactory. Fortunately, I have had some help in the last week from my nephew, Joseph Baugh, in the final details. We turned the home garage into a paint booth and painted the cage and the exterior of the car.
We aren’t done yet, upon initial instection, it appears SRD left out a crucial diagonal bar in the hoop, but it can be easily installed. The car goes back to SRD for completion of the welding in of the final bar and installation of the nets. Joseph and I will then complete the final setails of the car before our first club race in September at Phoenix International Raceway.

I have pictures from the Firebird International Raceway West event, but I still need to get them uploaded, I hope to have that completed by next week.
