After an unsuccessful attempt to sell the NBoundZ Nissan 350Z, Clayton Peck decides to go forward with 2008 race campaign with NASA AZ.
“If God wants us out here, He will continue to keep the door open. Right now, I see this as an opportunity to walk through that open door and I have faith that God will be with us 100% as we continue to minister to this wonderful motor sport community. I also want to thank our newest sponsor Terry Denton and The Water Store for helping making this a possibility!” as stated by Clayton Peck
For further clarification, the NBoundZ Z continues to be “For Sale”, but as long as God continues to provide a way for NBoundZ to be at the track as a racing team, they will continue the NASA AZ Campaign. NBoundZ Motorsports has secured a sponsor, The Water Store and a new undisclosed sponsor, but the funding will not start until the Fall season.
Clayton also commented, “This is a limited sponsorship that will allow us to race one day per weekend per month with NASA AZ’s Fall season, which is much better than not racing at all.”
Unless NBoundZ finds individual sponsorship for events coming up in the Spring and Summer, the car will remain on display at F1 Race Factory in Phoenix, AZ.
The ultimate goal is to sell the NBoundZ Motorsports Z and start on a racing project that will have less cost to race per event enabling NBoundZ Motorsports to have a more full season in 2009. NBoundZ Motorsports is exploring options with a Spec or Formula Ford / Mazda or a D Class sports car. NBoundZ Motorsports has mentioned they will discuss these options with Racer Motorsports of Phoenix, AZ to determine if building a car from the ground up is a possibility.
NBoundZ Motorsports is hoping to secure a complete sponsorship for the 2009 season that will include a very grassroot budget which will include the following estimated cost:
2009 Full Spring, Summer and Fall Season (2 events per month)
Used / new Spec or Formula Ford / Mazda or other car - $25,000.00
Entry Fees - $10,000.00
Tires for complete season - $10,000.00
Fuel - $5,000.00
Brakes - $4,000
Engine rebuilds - $5000.00
Travel Expenses - $5000.00
Total cost for Sponsorship - $64,000
Race car cost per event (24 events) - $1,025.00
Operating cost per event (24 events) - $1,000.00
The cost to run an “affordable” race car is still very expensive, so NBoundZ Motorsports will continue to research options to reduce the overall cost.
At this point, NBoundz Motorsports stated they were willing to trade the car for a very competitive Formula or Spec Ford / Mazda car. NBoundZ also mentioned they would be willing to trade the car for two ”seasoned” Formula or Spec Fords / Mazdas to give Joe Baugh an opportunity behind the wheel instead of being under the car as crew chief.
“No matter what we are driving, our ultimate goal is glorify Jesus Christ!” NBoundZ also pointed out they continue to keep the tradition of the Gulf Livery colors on all of their new projects.
