Clayton Peck entered in S4 at Super Nationals

July 4, 2009

Call me crazy, but I decided to take on the biggest race of karting only after one year in the kart. This entry has come with some thought and I have goals, but I think they are realistic. The estimated field will be 40 karts, so I am shooting for a top 20.

The cost is going to be the biggest hurdle, I plan on ramping up my practice and I am going to try to race at least 4 races before the event. I am hoping to do races that will prepare me for Super Nationals, so PKRA may not be the logical choice. I am considering doing the last SKUSA race in late August, but I may be forced to race PKRA in September, October and November. I hoping the P1 karters can organize a couple of races, that situation would be ideal. I would be willing to help out in getting the shifters and TaGs drivers to come down, but first we need a race series to happen at P1. I think prize money may be a good motivation for drivers and 80 karters at $75 a head for the P1 owners….. Leading to my second hurdle, sponsorship.

Sponsorship would be ideal for this Super National campaign and the P1 Super Nat prep race series effort. The question is, who would be willing to put money up for a fat 40 year old and a race series in the Tucson desert? That is the real question. This is what I could guarantee, web coverage, new graphics with sponsor on it, sponsor name on trailer, and multiple videos on vimeo. Who knows, if the price is right, maybe a new custom helmet and kart suit…. I love dreaming.

More to come!
